Judges: Jacquelynn Accetta

Jacquelynn Accetta began her career as a scientist in 2005 when she graduated from the George Washington University with a B.S. in Chemistry. Following graduation she worked in a molecular biology laboratory, where she studied the mechanisms of aging.

Jacquelynn decided to go back to school and in 2009 graduated from the State University of New York, Brockport with a M.S. in Secondary Science Education. She then taught a variety of middle school and high school science courses. Her favorite at the time was forensics!

Currently, Jacquelynn is an Education Specialist at Discovery Center Museum in Rockford, IL. She loves making science fun and engaging for students of all ages! Her favorite experiments include making slime and testing for pH with cabbage juice.
When Jacquelynn is not teaching, she loves to be in the kitchen. She enjoys making dishes from locally grown and sourced ingredients and has a vegetable garden in her back yard. She has made her own ice cream, tortillas and even cheese!
